Alex Zaphiris, MD, MS practices Integrative Family Medicine in the Mission District in San Francisco.Through bridging
together the best of evidence-based western medicine and integrative modes of
healing, she helps
patients with a wide variety of concerns including:wellness physicals, weight loss, depression/anxiety, cardiovascular issuesand musculoskeletal injuries.
Alongside conventional western medicine, she is trained
in Classical Homeopathy and Osteopathic Medicine, including Cranial Osteopathy,
which is the original lineage of Craniosacral therapy.
Dr. Zaphiris is a graduate of the UCSF School of Medicine and
has a Masters of Science from UC Berkeley.She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and the
American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine and is a member of the American
Academy of Osteopathy, the Cranial Academy and the National Center for
Homeopathy.
As Clinical Faculty at UCSF in the Department of Family and
Community Medicine and a Clinical Instructor at Touro University College of
Osteopathic Medicine, she enjoys teaching the next generation of medical
students.She maintains medical privileges
at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco.
Outside of clinical practice and academic medicine, she enjoys
bicycling around SF, participating in the SF Bicycle Coalition and supporting
restaurants which serve healthy local food.
